Serena Barton is a licensed professional counselor, professional artist, creativity instructor, studio curator and part-time instructor in Women's Studies. She received her masters' degree in counseling from Western Oregon State University in 1977. She was an early advocate of what was then called "Women's Liberation" and has continued her feminist studies since that time. Serena is a member of the Board of Directors for PSU's Queer Resource Center. At PSU she teaches the 4-credit course "Women, Creativity, and Healing" as well as several 1-credit courses highlighting the lives s of women artists with relevance to women's issues. One of Serena's great joys is inspiring people to discover or rediscover their creative energies.
